Mosquito trap

A CDC Fay-Prince trap attracts mosquitoes using a combination of carbon dioxide (released slowly from dry ice the blue thermos), UV light, and visual cues. It is especially attractive to Aedes aegypti, a potential vector of Zika virus in urban Austin where this trap hangs. This trap attracted more than 10 female A. aegypti per hour during a survey in August 2016.
