This Xyleborus sp. ambrosia beetle arrived to a blacklight in rural Belize. Ambrosia beetles are a rare example of a social insect outside the bees, wasps, and ants. These small insects live in communal galleries where they cultivate an edible fungus.Armenia, Belize.
