A Callipogon male longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae: Prioninae) is an impressively large insect with a distinctly furry set of mandibles. He was photographed alive in a whitebox studio- a technique we'll teach during the workshop- and released back to the forest.
The male Callipogon bearded longhorn beetle sports an impressively furry pair of mandibles. Females have smaller, less developed jaws.
