Hyperparasitoid wasps on oak gall

Even parasites have parasites. Plant galls are induced by insect larvae and represent a rich source of nourishment for the growing animal. Unfortunately, the gall's resources also attract parasites. Here, eurytomid (top) and cynipid (right) wasps lay their eggs into an existing oak gall; the cynipid to likely take over the gall, the eurytomid to likely parasitize the parasite.
