Philidris
is a genus of small, aggressive dolichoderine ants found in tropical Asia and Australia. Some species inhabit the specialized epiphytic ant-plants Hydnophytum and Myrmecodia (pictured below), providing nutrients and defense to the plants in return for shelter.
